Hazard category Class 8.1 acid corrosive products + Class 6.1 toxic products
Fire-fighting measures Fire extinguishing method: use CO2 and dry powder fire extinguishing agent to extinguish the fire, because it is effective against the fire caused by PCl3. For the spills of this chemical, the cleaning method is to adsorb them with dry sand or spray them quickly with a large amount of water to all the spills. Do not spray with a small amount of water as this may cause sparks.
Emergency treatment If it touches the eyes and skin, rinse immediately with eyewash and water; If a large amount of inhalation is inhaled, immediately move away from the scene to fresh air, and if necessary, perform artificial respiration.
Packaging, storage, transportation 300 kg/barrel of plastic drum or steel drum packaging. Closed-mouth thick steel drums made of 2 to 3 mm thick steel plates welded with two roller hoops for enhanced stability and leak prevention. Operation precautions: Phosphorus trichloride is a colorless fuming liquid, which is highly corrosive and toxic, and the most critical physical property is violent decomposition when exposed to water Therefore, it must be strictly protected from moisture during storage and transportation. Storage precautions: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from fire, heat source, storage temperature does not exceed 25 °C, relative humidity does not exceed 75%, packaging must be sealed, do not be damp, should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, alkalis, edible chemicals, do not mix storage, do not store for a long time, avoid deterioration, the storage area should be equipped with leakage emergency treatment equipment and suitable containment materials.
Phosphorus trichloride is a controlled chemical and is included in the Catalogue of Hazardous Chemicals Embargoed on Inland Waterways, which prohibits transportation through inland waterways .
