Uses As a solvent for nitrocellulose, various resins, gums, rocket fuel, plasticizers and diesel additives, it can also be used in gas chromatography and organic synthesis. Triethylene glycol is mainly used as air dehumidifier solvent and aromatic hydrocarbon extractant. It is also used in printing inks, softeners, moisturizers and disinfectants for air conditioning systems. It is used as an excellent dehydrating agent for natural gas, oilfield associated gas and carbon dioxide; excellent organic solvent; air bactericide; triethylene glycol plasticizer for polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate resin, glass fiber and asbestos pressed board, etc. Also used in organic synthesis, such as the production of brake fluids with high boiling points and good low temperature properties
Hazard category general chemicals
Fire-fighting measures Firefighters must wear gas masks and full-body firefighting suits to put out the fire in the windward direction. Move the container from the fire area to an open area as much as possible. Keep fire containers cool by spraying water until the fire is over. Extinguishing media: water, water mist, anti-solvent foam, dry powder, carbon dioxide, sand
Emergency treatment Inhalation: If inhaled, remove patient to fresh air. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration. Consult a physician
Skin Contact: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Consult a physician
Eye Contact: Flush thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician
Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. ask a doctor
Packaging, storage, transportation Packed in iron drums or plastic drums, 225kg/drum, and
stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. It should be stored separately from oxidants, acids, etc., and should not be mixed. Equipped with the appropriate variety and quantity of fire equipment. Storage areas should be equipped with emergency release equipment and suitable containment materials
